Legal Committee
The purpose of the Legal Committee is to be responsive as a US SAILING committee to inquiries and requests of its Officers, Board of Directors, Councils and Committees regarding legal matters, but not to act as general counsel to US SAILING.
The composition includes:
- A committee chair who is a volunteer appointed by the Board, as recommended by the President.
- Committee members shall be volunteers selected by the chair.
- All members shall be members of US SAILING and a majority of members shall be members in good standing as attorneys in a state and/or in a Federal District/ Appellate Court.
- The chair may appoint ad hoc committees
